Soul Collage - A Beginning!

Several weeks ago my dear bloggy friend Soul Brush invited me to begin a intuitive and artful journey called Soul Collage. Carla of Wings 4 You Coaching suggested the process and offered to assist others in moving through our discovery.

.
Carla's invitation read: This group is open to anyone who is interested in using her intuition and visual expression to explore the many facets of her being. This is a non-competitive, supportive group, and no special skill or experience is necessary to join.
.
According to the Author of SoulCollage, this "is a deeply satisfying art that anyone can do. Just follow the book's simple directions, moving fragments of cut-out magazine pictures around, fitting them together in a surprising new way and gluing them down on a card. Then use your cards to help answer life's questions."
.
What begins as fragments that interest you ends with a beautiful artwork of personalized cards similar to tarot cards. This interested me for several reasons - first the intriguing invitation, then the opportunity to do something that others are also doing - which leads to support and confidence, and then the thought of opening up the creativity that sometimes lies dormant or ignored. I also know how to read tarot cards, and know what intuitive forces they can reveal.
.
As a quick disclaimer to my friends - I see tarot not as "fortune telling" but as a meditative way of making intuitive discoveries about myself and others. I don't know how to tell the future or answer unknown questions and will not attempt to. Often questions we already know the answers to lie so far beneath our facade that they require thought, and quiet and honesty and self discovery to surface. Tarot is one way to find this stillness and then ripple the surface of your understanding.

.
So where an I in the process????
.
I received my copy of the book from Amazon.com, and I've begun with the reading. For about 2 weeks now, I've been going through dozens of magazines, cutting pieces and parts and wholes of pictures of anything that appeals to me. I have quite a selection, but will continue with this process.
.
I don't subscribe to many periodicals, so I went to the used book store at my library and bought an armful of magazines on various subjects. Some were a dime, some a quarter - not a big investment for a lot of potential.
.
I set up a workspace in my officette - it's just a card table next to my computer table - but is roomy enough and is in a place where I can close the door ( although you may know from posts on my other blog, that the Mister things of many things to talk to me about as I attempt to write)
.
I have materials for the cards, the backings, and the cutting and pasting.
.
I read Carla's most recent post and I see she has paused for those of us who are straggling along can catch up a bit! Thank you!
.
I am just about ready to begin creating a card! First, though I'll catch up on Carla's post, see what everyone else is up to, and make sure I have prepared everything for that very first card.
.
The journey begins - More to follow!
